Three FBLA Members Qualify for Nationals 2023
Three Syracuse FBLA members qualified for the National Leadership Conference at the annual FBLA State Leadership Conference held in Kearney on April 3-5. Members placing in the top three automatically qualify for the National Leadership Conference to be held in Atlanta June 27-July 1.
Colton Sprague placed first and Logan Johnson placed second in Database Design and Applications. Colin Coon placed second in Spreadsheet Applications. Both events consisted of two-parts, an objective test and a certification test.
The Business Financial Plan team of Micah Harvey and Riley Walters placed sixth and Creighton Orchard placed eighth in Electronic Career Portfolio.
The chapter’s American Enterprise Project led by Will Janssen and Creighton Orchard placed fifth. The Local Chapter Annual Business Report prepared by Riley Walters and Micah Harvey placed sixth.
Receiving Honorable Mention was Macy Wittler in Job Interview, Advertising and Business Communications and Colton Sprague in Introduction to Business Procedures and Introduction to Business Concepts.
The Syracuse chapter received the Sweepstakes Award and the Gold Seal Award of Merit. Chapter members were also recognized for all the ribbon projects which included donating money to the March of Dimes, increasing membership by 7, having an adviser as a NSBEA member, and participating in Feed Nebraska, iGive, Connect 2 Business, StepUp2Tech, Spark Your Legacy, and Go Green projects. The chapter placed first and reached VIP Foundation Status for their $1000 donation to the Nebraska FBLA Foundation.
Recognized as All-State Quality Members were Micah Harvey, Creighton Orchard, Riley Walters, Macy Wittler, Jace Stinson, Aselen Farley, Isaac Hestermann, and Colton Sprague. Creighton Orchard received Who’s Who in FBLA.
Members also attending were Jayden Meyer, Kathleen Donovan, Reagan Wilhelm, Haleigh Werner, Griffin Bokamper, Kyle Cavanaugh, Elliot Harden, and Max Parde. Susan Wellman serves as chapter adviser.
When not taking tests, members attended a variety of seminars and general sessions.
